Since we work with Mobile mechanics to increase their client base and profits while building value in their work to position better in the market, we have seen a lot of success in marketing and positioning over the years.

One marketing strategy that has been working really well for mobile mechanics is marketing themselves as a value not just a service . Take a look at what I mean by that:

When you go to get your car serviced, how do you feel about getting advice from a service writer that has possibly not even seen your car, let alone inspected it. On one hand you want to trust, but on the other hand is your time worth anything when they are trying to sell you something every 5 minutes.

Now think about what happens when you take your car in for an inspection or some other service that has no fees attached. The mechanic will almost always let you know of any services you need and give you a thorough breakdown of any failures they may find.

This is the point where marketing and selling should come into play. If your customer knows that you can help them with value added marketing to their vehicles then they will be more inclined to seek out your services.

To create marketing collateral:

– make a pamphlet or marketing piece highlighting key marketing points; what problems you can fix, how you provide the same help at THEIR location, instead of them having to go to a shop.

– create marketing that highlights how you are different from other mobile mechanics or

– highlight testimonials from customers

By marketing yourself with the above pieces, people will be able to see the value in your business. It is important to further this marketing by having a website where your marketing pieces can all be used and linked through. This makes the viewability so much easier for a crowd of people that have limited attention due to the amount of information out there.

The marketing can be provided by

– having a website that you control all marketing on

– using social media marketing to promote your marketing

– just creating quality marketing pieces

By building this, you are being seen as the value of the business. You are fixing problems for people at their location without them having to search anywhere else.

This positions you as the expert and not just the guy who can possibly fix their car.

By marketing yourself, you are positioning yourself as the expert in that field.

Small business marketing is about knowing your position and projecting quality marketing to the right audience; this avoids wasting marketing efforts on bad marketing options. Quality marketing can be found by doing research on the target market (customers) and seeing what they like, where they search and who they talk to.

This is the easiest way to reach a warm market without needing to create your own.
